I am not a morning person. My mornings with two young children mostly involve me trying – without moving, preferably – to get everyone to climb into bed with me and snuggle in. Quietly. It’s this fantasy that I have in my head. And once in a while it happens that I get a moment. A moment when everyone is content to burrow under the blankets and pretend to go back to sleep. A moment before “I have to go to the bathroom” and “I’m hungry” and “I’m late for work!” A moment when I can lie back and see the magic, feel this fizzy moment of total bliss and love and deep satisfaction. And it’s those moments that have convinced me, not to go so far as to be a morning person (oh, no), but that there is at least the possibility of loving waking up.
This doesn’t hurt, either 🙂
